Club Code of Conduct

A simple guide to keeping the club welcoming, respectful, safe and enjoyable for all members.

Membership of The Classic Landcruiser Club carries responsibilities as well as benefits. This code of conduct helps ensure the club remains a welcoming, respectful and enjoyable community for all members.

Respect and behaviour

  • Treat all members, visitors and the wider community with courtesy, respect and consideration.
  • Listen to others, value different perspectives and contribute to a positive and inclusive club atmosphere.
  • Avoid behaviour that is offensive, discriminatory, threatening or disrespectful toward any person.
  • Resolve disagreements calmly and respectfully. If issues arise, address them constructively or bring them to the attention of the committee.

Safety and responsibility

  • Prioritise safety in all club activities, whether on trips, at events or during gatherings.
  • Follow trip leaders’ instructions, respect planned routes and timings and communicate clearly if issues arise.
  • Ensure your vehicle is properly maintained, equipped and safe for the activity planned.
  • Drive responsibly, within your skill level and in a manner that does not put yourself, other members or the public at risk.
  • Do not participate in club activities under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Environmental and community responsibility

  • Respect the environment and leave no trace. Take all rubbish with you and leave sites in better condition than you found them.
  • Stay on designated tracks and respect property boundaries, whether public or private land.
  • Follow all laws, regulations and land management rules that apply to club activities.
  • Represent the club positively in the wider community and uphold its good name.

Participation and contribution

  • Participate in club life in good faith and with genuine interest.
  • Support club events, volunteer when able and contribute to a spirit of shared effort.
  • Respect the time and effort of trip leaders, organisers and committee members.
  • Pay membership fees and any event costs on time.

Club property and resources

  • Treat club property, equipment and resources with care.
  • Return borrowed items promptly and in good condition.
  • Use club communication channels appropriately and respectfully.

Representation

  • When representing the club publicly, whether at shows, events or online, act in a way that reflects well on the club’s values and reputation.
  • Do not make official statements or commitments on behalf of the club unless authorised to do so.

Consequences

Members who breach this code of conduct may be subject to a warning, suspension or termination of membership, depending on the seriousness and circumstances of the breach. Decisions regarding conduct matters rest with the club committee and will be handled fairly and confidentially.
